DMOZ, the god father directory for SEO is getting closed from 14 March 2017. They posted a notice on thier website.


DMOZ was most popular as a hard to submit site directory but was also most popular as a directory for SEO.

Last year only they made a huge change in their home page and complete directory design. And here comes the shutdown bell. It will highly affect the SEO sector and is currently huge topic of discussion amongst SEO community.

Many tried alot to get their website listed in the DMOZ directory. Some were blessed by the editors while some were still struggling for the same. This news will be huge relief as well as huge pain for certain people cause some have invested lot of time and money for getting listed in it. Now if they are listed after struggling, they will no longer be there and who were not listed even after struggling they may also snatch their hairs out of frustration.

Afterall change is the law. Certain good as well as bad happens with every change.
